We are looking for a research partnet for the following project «SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AS A NECESSARY PRACTICE IN A MILITARY ECONOMY»

The aim of the project is to disseminate the best practices to promote the creation of social enterprises in military economies by promoting the socialization of persons with disabilities and traumatized persons (not yet registered disability in many victims, how to prescribe them); temporarily displaced persons from the occupied cities and who remained in Ukraine; persons who did not leave the settlements where hostilities are active during the martial law in Ukraine and were discharged from the Ukrainian army, receiving psychological rehabilitation and making recommendations to restore motivation for socially oriented entrepreneurship in a military economy.

The task of the project is to form public opinion among young people, including those with disabilities, and public organizations, representatives of the real sector of the economy on the need to implement the principles of inclusive life in martial law and solve the problems of victims and temporarily displaced persons. We form a bank of ideas, design viable social enterprises and provide proposals taking into account the collected social problems that can be solved using business methods and taking into account international exchange and best practices received from grant partners (see how social entrepreneurs work in their countries).

About the Institution

The University “Ukraine” has 24 years of experience in training specialists, in particular in the field of information technology, based on the principles of an inclusive educational environment. It was the first in Ukraine to build a barrier-free campus and create an inclusive educational space to ensure access for people with disabilities to higher education. It has established a Center for Inclusive Learning Technologies to support students with special educational needs, which successfully includes a medical rehabilitation center, psychological and adaptive clubs and a department of special learning technologies, equipped with specialized computer workstations for independent training of students with hearing impairments, vision and musculoskeletal system.

University teachers have gained significant experience working with students with disabilities with different types of nosology. A system of support for students with special educational needs from admission to university, during the period of study to employment and career development has been introduced. Students with disabilities not only study with their peers, but also participate in community and volunteer work, scientific and creative competitions, Universiades and international Paralympic and Deaflympic Games.

Open International University of Human Development “Ukraine” is the only inclusive institution of higher education in Ukraine today. We have about 1,500 students with special educational needs. The University has branches almost all over Ukraine, in particular in the most affected regions - Kyiv, Brovary, Vasylkiv, Mykolaiv, Nova Kakhovka, Melitopol. Many teachers and colleagues from Kyiv have lived in the cities of Bucha, Borodyanka, Irpin, and Makariv.
