We are looking for the support in radiation safety and security research, including the ways of counteraction for nuclear terrorism, developing new approaches to safety to nuclear facilities and materials in Ukraine and globally and providing methodological support for the operator organizations on the spent fuel and radioactive waste management. We are also interested in organizing collaborative trainings and educational activities.

About the Institution

The Institute was established and operates to provide cutting-edge research and technologies for ensuring the safety and security of nuclear technologies, decommissioning of nuclear objects, handling of spent nuclear fuel, aimed at bringing the acquired scientific and technical knowledge to practical use. It provides scientific and technical support for the New Safe Confinement and the "Shelter" Object of the Chornobyl NPP and is the only institution in the world to have the research access to fuel-containing materials formed as a result of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP. It also provides methodological support for the operator organizations on the spent fuel and radioactive waste management at the Chornobyl NPP site and in in the exclusion zone. During the occupation of the ChNPP, Russian troops destroyed and looted the laboratories of ISP NPP, located on Chornobyl town. Currently, the work of the Institute, insuring the radiations safety of the New Safe Confinement of ChNPP.
