About the Institution

VI. Vernadskii Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is founded in 1918 by academician V.I. Vernadsky. Now Institute consists of 8 departments. The main activities of the Institute are the synthesis and study of new materials, including nanomaterials, for solutions of some topical basic and applied problems in modern inorganic chemistry (especially synthesis and study of inorganic,(1-D, 2-D, and 3-D materials), complex and organo-mineral nanomaterials), and medicinal chemistry. Synthesis, and study of structural and electrophysical properties of new functional materials based on inorganic and organo-inorganic systems with a channel structure for obtaining, accumulating, and storing energy. Now Institute doesn't have the possibility to work in full in the absence of electricity.
